This range of Econoloc Gas Springs/Gas Struts don't require separate safety rods in critical lift-assist applications.
When the gas spring is fully extended, a spring-loaded locking shroud moves into place automatically preventing the gas spring from compressing.
Simply apply thumb pressure to the designated area of the locking shroud to manually release the gas spring for a controlled compression.
The locking shroud and gas spring body are finished with an epoxy coating which provides excellent corrosion resistance. To prevent scratching of the gas cylinder, a guide is inside the shroud.
The superior quality Econoloc range of gas struts are stocked as Vari-Lift versions and have the added safety feature required in many heavy duty applications such as trucks, construction machinery, switch gear and agricultural equipment.
When used in conjunction with a standard Swift and Sure gas strut there is a matching Swift and Sure version for each which can be identified in column Z below.

Please note: To hold the locking shroud in place, the Econoloc Gas Spring is supplied with a nut. Please remove and replace with an appropriate End Connector when fitted.
